Reorganizing gaming
Several independant events means its time to reorganize my gaming groups. I am pondering the relative value in going mostly Virtual, using Google Hangout or Skype for remote players, for the roleplaying games. Its harder for the board gaming part. And I am now pondering how to recruit more players to cover the inevitable changes for live gaming. Married life has reduced the time I spent socializing with local gamers enough that the pool is less visible.

I hate it when ...
Its coming up on a month to the game and some of the early preregistered players have never answered their emails about casting. I hate to recast a role out from under someone but its not fair to the folks on the wait-list who did fill out their questionnaires not to ask the ConCom to poke the silent folks.

Revisions
Jamais Vue is the recent game I like most in part because we took a long time building it and have run it enough to know where the bumps are and how to fix them. So we are. As part of the tightening we are also going to squeeze part of the second three hours into the first three which I think will be interesting.

As a matter of principle I always try to have enough spare plot to fill an extra couple of hours of play time in case the players burn through the main plot fast enough. Timed events can deliberately slow things down and its less of an issue in full weekend games but for a 4 hours game (really a three hour game) I refuse to assume my players wont see through my puzzles, work our solutions to the insoluable personal problems and in all other ways demolish the barriers we have set up.

This is the flip side to Andrew's blow up the game method of guarenteeing a climax. JV had one of those too but overall I think it was a mistake and we are fixing it. Lets just hope we can get a few players for a game which has run before more than once. At least we know it can run from 7 to 24 players and I think it can actually crunch down to 2 players if necessary. All be it, it is a very different game for 2 for 8 for 16. 16 to 24 sre the same game but we lose the second ring of players and plots.

Now I just need a couple of floor GMs to help run it as my core team are busy elsewhere that weekend.

Kickstarting for a LARP
In an interesting experiment Tomas has setup a short Kickstarter projects to raise some money for the Nero Hartford chapter events.   Its a fairly plot heavy chapter or at least backstory heavy and it will be interesting to see if anyone besides the starving college students is willing to contribute.     The link is at http://kck.st/LtibZR and it is really interesting.   I am not at all sure about how much, how long and what rewards are needed for a project to succeed in this space.

It certainly a general concept I am curious about to increase the prop level for most LARPS although Hartford has the props and is using it to help with Camp fees and the 10th anniversary projects

Survived oral surgery and Intercon L

Electric minotaur mask/hat a win. (thanks to BASHA AND JOHN) Grand glorious fun in Folding the River(I always worry before crotchety games and I am always blown away) and Orgia (all the better for getting to play with very good friends; Cameron was good casting on that role, except for having to wear a metal chin and eye patch in a dimly lit game for a long time. Fortunately lots of friendly slaves and priestesses. And I think I ensured the family slaves could not be killed.)

Our games, Vue to a Kill, and "...and the Electric Labyrinth" went off amazingly well. Lots of tweaking but big kudos to Lisa and Josh respectively. And great AGMs and cast. We were well over staffed which was just fine.

So all In all a great Con

I keep looking at the top of my LJ page and seeing the button Manage Friends. But it never seems to do what I want it to do to them.

Heading home

My work is good on that they give us a 3pm closing before holidays for travel. And business casual when things are messy then. Heading and the fun with Algebra. Yay!

Models with Flat affect
Oy.

Cute but not as beautiful as she thinks.

Fails to hold poses when instructed.

Not consistent on her limitations.

Red head.  *sigh*

Stuck s SFW shot under "Hair" on my OMP site.

Trouble smiling of course.  And always pushing her hair to one side. But the flat affect gives me a strong yhou dont want ot be here at all do you vibe.  And thats just not something I want to work with.
